TURKISH RENTAL MARKET SET TO GROW

Demand for rental accommodation in Turkey is likely to increase significantly in the next few years, according to experts.

Foreign Property Buyer said the government wants to double annual visitor numbers between now and 2023 and is changing its marketing strategy accordingly.

In order to handle the extra capacity and to broaden its appeal, Turkish authorities are now marketing inland areas to consumers in other countries.

This will show people that Turkey has more to offer than good weather and beaches and will stimulate economic growth in as-yet untapped markets.

Foreign Property Buyer said the housing market is especially likely to experience growth, prompting it to suggest that investors snap up a residence before prices start to go up.

The website commented: "As the whole of Turkey is being promoted, it means that property price growth and rental yields should improve in all areas."

Investors were told that investing in what is currently a "less touristy" area could allow them to collect "excellent returns" in the future.

Last year, Turkey attracted 23 million foreign leisure travellers.
