TURKEY 'CONFIRMED' AS PROPERTY HOTSPOT

Turkey property is getting all the right attention from people looking to invest or establish a holiday home there, a report claims.

Brits and other Europeans spent more than $10 billion (£5 billion) on Turkish property in the five years ending last year, according to Today's Zaman.

This interest in the Mediterranean country, which is not yet a full member of the European Union, is set to grow, the website suggested, fuelled by the climate, culture and the low costs of real estate and living.

As well as investors and holidaymakers, the country is attractive for Brits and other Europeans looking to retire somewhere warm, it added.

However, the portal said there were potential pitfalls to purchasing in the country and advised people to research well and get assistance from trusted experts.

British people are looking to emigrate because of rising crime figures in the UK, according to a report in the Daily Express.

It cited a report by Foreign Currency Direct, which also said a third of people were tempted into leaving because of the British weather.
