TURKEY ATTRACTS EASTERN EUROPEAN VISITORS

Turkey is becoming an increasingly popular destination among eastern European tourists, according to new figures.
Government data revealed that more than 281,000 people from eastern Europe visited the country during January and February, reports TurkishPress.com.
This is 10.5 per cent higher than the figure recorded during the same period of the previous year and a sign that Turkey is broadening its appeal.
Statistics indicated that 142,528 Bulgarian people visited the country during the first two months of the year.
This makes them the second-largest group of foreign consumers in Turkey throughout this period, as they were only outnumbered by visitors from Germany.
The figures will be welcome reading for buy-to-let investors in popular tourist resorts, as it suggests that demand for temporary lodgings is going up.
As a result, rental accommodation could potentially yield healthy returns for investment buyers.
Last year, Turkey attracted 23 million foreign leisure travellers.
