Turkish crafts are generously dispersed through Bodrum’s narrow, white-walled streets. Bodrum’s must-make purchases are handmade leather sandals, Turkish carpets, copperware, ceramics and Meerschaum pipes.
Bodrum and its surrounding towns hold daily bazaars. The Turgutreis bazaar, held on Saturdays, is one of the more popular. It is a particularly good spot for the purchase of jewellery and leather items. Bodrum’s other bazaars operate as follows: Turkbukka on Mondays, Golkoy on Tuesdays, Ortakent and Gundogan on Wednesdays, Yalikovak on Thursdays and Bodrum’s fruit and vegetable bazaar on Thursdays and Fridays.
