SPAIN 'OFFERS HIGH-QUALITY NIGHTLIFE'

Holidaymakers in Spain can enjoy the best night spots in the world, new research has found.

A study by FutureBrand found that the country was the highest rated location for clubs among international travellers.

Various parts of Spain were praised by visitors, including Valencia, Madrid and Barcelona.

Ibiza, one of the Balearic islands, was also said to be one of the world's finest nightspots.

Commenting on the research, Enrique Ruiz de Lera of the National Tourist Office said he was "very pleased" with the high regard in which Spain was held internationally.

He added: "It just goes to show the internationally used Spanish word for parties, 'fiesta', is not by chance."

The research comes after the Office for National Statistics revealed that many Britons chose to relocate to Spain permanently last year.

According to the body, more than 200,000 UK citizens moved overseas during 2006.
