Investors in many European holiday resorts are set to benefit from forthcoming accessibility improvements.
Budget airline easyJet has announced that it is to begin flying from Manchester Airport to the city of Paphos in Cyprus.
Direct services to Malaga in Spain are also to be added to its schedules, with further services being rolled out in the near future.
The flights are being introduced as part of a move to bolster its presence in the north-west of England and open up mainland Europe to local people.
This means that consumers in the north-west will be able to enjoy more affordable flights to destinations such as Cyprus and Spain.
As a result, they may become far more attractive to people who are thinking of buying a holiday home in such a place.
Andrew Cornish, managing director of Manchester Airport, commented: "The arrival of easyJet is great news for Manchester passengers."
This comes after the airline highlighted Malaga as a hotspot for holidaymakers from the UK over the Easter season.
