RENTAL INVESTORS 'SHOULD BUY IN PORTUGAL'

Portugal could be a good destination for rental investors over the next few years, experts have advised.

Foreign Property Buyer said a new international airport is currently being constructed in the vicinity of the Blue and Silver Coast.

This means that the area could be set to see a significant increase in the number of visitors after it becomes operational in 2012.

According to the website, investors will be able to benefit from the greater demand for rental accommodation in the area, as well as subsequent growth in house prices.

The portal commented: "The Blue and Silver Coasts offer an attractive alternative for overseas property investors with plenty of good opportunities to be found."

Foreign Property Buyer added that the region could be a cheaper place to invest than other Portuguese hotspots such as the Algarve.

The Silver Coast was recently recommended to investors by the SaveBorrowSpend website because of its "unspoilt land".
