Shopping in Portimao
Portimao is one of the few Algarvian towns where you can spend at least half a day browsing. The main shopping street is Rua do Comercio. If that’s too crowded, a good alternative is Rua de Santa Isabel.
In summer, the main resorts feature a multitude of roadside stalls that sell handicrafts, art, jewellery, ceramics and clothes.
The massive Modelo Shopping Centre is open daily, and offers untold shopping and entertainment under one roof.
Portimao’s must-have purchases are handknit sweaters, handmade copperware and sisal baskets.
