Day Trips from Olhao
Milreu, situated some 10 km north-west of Olhao, is home to fascinating Roman ruins. The remains of the settlement, including a temple and baths, date from the second century. Some of the smaller archaeological pieces are on display in Faro’s museum.
East of Olhao is the seaside village of Fuseta. It features castle ruins and similar architectural style houses.
To the north lies the village of Moncarapacho. Its sights include a 16th century church and an adjoining museum.
