FRENCH SKI RESORTS POPULAR WITH INVESTORS

Overseas property investors are increasingly choosing to purchase homes in French ski resorts, according to experts.
Foreign exchange specialist HiFX said that established skiing destinations in France are becoming more and more popular as they offer a strong rental market.
Although the group stated that house prices in places such as Meribel tend to be relatively high, it added that they can also generate considerable rental returns.
Mark Bodega, director of HiFX, commented: "The French Alps are still top for Brits seeking a place in the snow."
He added that the country accounted for more than a quarter of all the enquiries it has received in the last year, largely because it is relatively close to the UK.
HiFX recently stated that improved transport links between the two countries have made the idea of living in France and commuting to work in Britain "increasingly feasible".
