Special Events in Limassol
Limassol is famous for its annual Carnival. The festival, which lasts ten days, is based on an ancient custom and features colourful masquerades, lively street parades and fancy dress competitions.
The Wine Festival of Cyprus takes place in Limassol’s Municipal Garden during the first quarter of September. The event is a nocturnal one, and operates from 20h00 to 23h00 every night. Visitors get the opportunity to taste a variety of local wines, free of charge. This is often accompanied by choir and dance performances.
Other Limassol special events are the Flower Festival (May), the Festival of the Flood (June) and the Shakespearean Nights and Ancient Greek Drama Festival.
