Latsi lies on the borders of the beautiful Akama Peninsula, which is nothing short of a geological wonderland. Almost all the geological formations in Cyprus are found here. The area, destined to be declared a National park, offers a network of nature trails complete with breathtaking views of the bay and its surrounds. It is also home to the famous Baths of Aphrodite, where the goddess of love performed her mythical cleansing rituals.
The Troodos Mountains and Nicosia represent longer, more ambitious trips. A green mountain chain rising to over 6 000 feet, the Troodos Mountains allow visitors an authentic experience of Cypriot village life. There are excellent walking trails and spectacular views.
Nicosia is the capital of Cyprus and enjoys a central location on the island. On offer here is a wealth of monuments and historical buildings, a vibrant nightlife and a mix of old-fashioned shops. The most frequently encountered items for sale in the shops along the city’s narrow streets and ancient squares are pottery, embroidery, antiques and silverware.
