INVESTORS IN BRAZIL SET TO SCORE…
Monday, 14 Apr 2008
With preparations for the 2014 Soccer World Cup well on the way, Brazilians and foreign investors will soon be receiving many benefits, in an already booming economy.
It is suggested by Carlos Navies Guimaraes (Chairman, Invest Tur) that Brazil “is likely to enjoy numerous economic benefits as a result of hosting the tournament, including an acceleration of growth in the Brazilian tourism industry - a development which could boost its buy-to-let sector.”
This is will have a positive impact on Brazil, as a country and on its economy, as there will no doubt be greater investments placed into local infrastructure, in turn creating an increase in interest from prospective investors, in turn creating a possible increase in property values.
Although 2014 is still a long ways away, economic experts project that in light of how Brazil property prices have been on the rise and rise, as is the burgeoning middle class in Brazil; the economy is “expected to grow anywhere between 5% and 5.5%” (Finance minister, Guido Mantega)
According to a further statement made by Brazilian Finance Minister, Guido Mantega, “Real estate is among the sectors that have been driving strong economic growth and it will likely continue to do so again this year. Overall, there's a middle-class boom and Brazil is extremely strong at the moment”.
It is safe to assume that the best and most obvious bet for foreign investors would be property in Brazil.
With an ever-growing economy and an increase in political stability, investors seeking havens for their capital need look no further.
The Brazil property boom is set to receive an additional boost, once the expansion of Natal Airport is completed – bringing with it the capacity and capability to handle influxes of air travel and the accompanying foreign investors.
An abundance of properties are for sale in Brazil, particularly new developments, resulting in Brazil’s housing market reaching the point where good resale values and good rental returns are guaranteed.
