BRAZIL LEADING THE POLL IN TERMS OF PROFITABLE OPPORTUNITIES
Wednesday, 23 Jul 2008
Brazil’s untapped, until recently, vastness of potential speaks volumes when asking the question: Is Brazil a wise investment option?
Amidst the global economic crisis and the current credit crunch, consumers are finding some solace in the fact that “cheap airlines are making travelling overseas a very tempting option”, while at the same time keeping abreast of the vast international investment opportunities.
Aviation industry officials have estimated that Brazil could need more than 300 extra passenger aircraft over the next 20 years.
A spokesperson for Airbus explained: “Greater capacity is needed because the South American country is becoming more and more popular with leisure travellers.
Indeed, the rate of growth during the next few years will outpace the global average.
”Since the mid-1990s, international passenger traffic has doubled, and with Brazil being the major economic player in Latin America, air traffic has grown immensely, and will continue to do so with even more amplitude during the next 20 years at least”.
It is common knowledge by now that most investors are looking abroad to stake their claim in various investment opportunities.
There are a variety of reasons for this current phenomenon, one of which being the increased availability and affordability of overseas air travel.
This Latin American country, Brazil, is regarded by international property experts as an “economy ripe for foreign investors and an environment conducive to sustainable growth.”
Perhaps directly related to this is the fact that the Brazilian real-estate sector is already showing an increase in international investor interest.
“A stable economy with future prospects of GDP increases and a competitive currency have enhanced the investment climate. This has attracted significant international manufacturing business; further building up what is South America's strongest economy. Brazil is also expanding its presence in the world market through increased tourism.” (Chintan Mahida, International Property Expert, Nubricks.com)
This reduction in airfare coincides with the prevalence of good investment opportunities and excellent rental returns, further adding to the booming housing markets of many countries abroad.
The release of new figures from EasyJet supports this claim, as the passenger numbers in the last year have increased by 22.4 per cent.
This is promising and positive news for investors worldwide.
